I feel so terrible about the fact that I rarely update here anymore.   Thank goodness for ping posts or nothing would ever show up here! 

Life is good.  I have a Lola dog practically sitting in my lap and a Blanca kitty who just curled up next to me.

School is going great again this semester.  I am doing what they said not to do and taking two core courses at once.  When I see my grades and if I get straight As again, I'm going to add a third class to the fall semester and a third to spring and be done before next summer.

Work is going well and I'm hoping to get an interview for the II position.  I am hoping they promote me even though I'm not done with the degree yet.

We're heading down to Miami on Friday for Father's Day.  My Dad seems to be hanging in and responding okay to the treatments.  My Mom is doing okay considering everything.  I can't wait to hug my brother and stare in disbelief at his new wedding ring. 

x. I took the Lola bear to see Dr. McLaughlin and the big baby dog is 61.2 pounds of hound!
x. We went to the Master Gardeners' Spring Festival and bought some plants for the front yard.  Some sort of jasmine and some yellow speckly crotons.  So pretty!
x. Hamantashen, chicken soup.  I rock the kitchen.
x. Experienced the Gatornationals.  I was not prepared for the earth-shatteringness that is the sound from an engine fueled by nitro-methane.  Even with earplugs, it vibrates your chest and blurs your vision!  Crazy.  Michael got to meet a few of his favorite drivers.  I didn't find Lewis Bloom, but I hope to meet him next year.  Oh yes.  Jewey statistician, you and I shall meet!
x. Hey, I got 96 out of 100 on my paper for policy.  Not bad for one I wrote in a hotel room and Michael edited on the plane!
x. Looking forward to fancy dinner.

Today is our First Anniversary.  Everybody, aww.

Everybody shine up your trumpets!  I got straight A's!

And 300/300 on my bibliography project and 24/25 on my literature review.

Celebrate good times, come on!

I am experiencing 21st Century Judaism. 

I didn't go to temple today.  The local synagogue wanted $150 for High Holidays tickets and wouldn't negotiate.  Ridiculous.

So I still took the day off, but I am at a local coffee shop, using their Wifi, and working on the two midterm papers I have due at the end of this week.  

I brought my headphones so I can listen to Temple Israel of Miami's live Yom Kippur service, which is being broadcast through their website.  

Pretty awesome.

Just don't tell anyone I'm having coffee.  I'm staying away from the baked goods.  Hashem understands caffeine addiction.

I really like library school.

I was checking out this site and book and a picture of "Steve Fortgang, The No. 1 Bar Mitzvah Band" made me wonder about our original school music teacher, Mr. Fortgang. Maybe it's him? I don't know, but I came across the website for good old Highland Oaks Elementary (now apparently, VABHOE? yuck! and they changed the song! blah!) and some great old photos of the place.
