About the Trolls

Dear Friends, Readers, and Blog Trolls,

I have noticed a sharp increase in anonymous vitriolic comments to some of my political posts this election cycle.  I don't know if it is because the writers are so afraid that a brown man will become our next president or if they are all just hateful scum looking to get a rise out of a very-small-time progressive girl blogger.

Here are some examples:

If you all really want to improve this country you'll slit your wrists before the election.

I smell fear in your traitorous rants. afraid of a real woman in politics? Does the national organization for women support the only female candidate for vice president this year? Not this time. You all still don't get it,she's a real American woman, not a raving radical that's only concerned with her "right" to kill babies. Your devotion to Roe V. Wade would allow you to sell this country down the drain. Why not have a full debate about abortion, and let the people decide through their votes rather than manufacture a "right" out of nothing? What are afraid of, the will of the people?

Typical liberal response, don't argue the facts, threaten the publisher. Sorry, I forgot the new term is "Progressive" (Are you trying to hide your affinity and support for every enemy America has faced in the past half century.)Contemporary liberal community activism consists of organizing felons, addicts, and other assorted leeches on society into voting fodder for the Democrat party. The fact is that Obama has had long term, intimate associations with Anti-American terrorists,Marxists, and anti-white bigots. When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

you are all truly all airheads, not to be taken seriously. he's just the right candidate for you, inane and feckless.

Obviously, these are the people who claim to love America, but can't stand Americans.

Let's all pray for them.  They clearly need a hug.

Love, Erin

Wow! It's traitorous to be a Democrat and support the Democratic candidate?

SEND ME TO PRISON NOW!!!!

It's amazing to me how the majority of people (regardless of Party preference) believe whole-heartedly everything "their" candidate (and camp) says about the opponent. I'm sorry, but I'm not stupid enough to believe that either candidate could possibly speak truths about the other without blowing them out of proportion or just plane making things up. It's ignorance. It's also silly to me that people (still either Party preference) will sit and listen to their candidate's speeches, but not pay a lick of attention to the other candidate's. That, to me, is happily forcing ignorance upon yourself and thundering forward with blinders on so you only see what you want instead of looking at each candidate with an open mind. ... well this person is Republican/Democrat, so they have my vote - their party affiliation is good enough for me to know that everything they say shines of rainbows and fuzzy bunnies and will surely be good for me and all Americans! Um. No.

I can't expect all of America to care enough to spend time listening to both sides and taking them both with a grain of salt (or a truck load) before making such an important decision, but it sure would be nice.

It would also be nice if the cowards who post such combative comments could at least be brave enough to share their identity. Because obviously your beliefs and ideals are so threatening to them and their way of life that they have to lash out at you ... but passively because they're too scared to say it to your "face" and let you know who they are. They're only brave enough to kinda stand up for their own ideals. This is impotent venom from the keyboards of cowards.

Go you for calling out the butts.

here's some good news. or maybe semi-good news? interesting tidbit? your blog is where i first heard of barack a few years ago. a fact that demonstrates how uninterested in politics (an interest rapidly rising) and general news i was. nevertheless i mentioned him to a friend who has become a very outspoken supporter of barack. i think you deserve some partial credit for motivating a group of people you don't even know.
